Continue walking straight until you reach the intersection with Captain Cook Highway (State Route 44). Cross the highway at the pedestrian crossing, being cautious of traffic. Once across, turn right and follow Captain Cook Highway for approximately 3 kilometers. You will see signs for Cooya Beach on your left. Turn onto Cooya Beach Road, which will lead you directly to the beach.

    If you prefer to cycle, rent a bike from one of the rental shops in Port Douglas. From Macrossan Street, head towards Wharf Street and then join Captain Cook Highway. Cycle along the highway for about 3 kilometers, watching for traffic. Look for the sign for Cooya Beach on your left. Turn onto Cooya Beach Road and follow it straight to the beach. This route is relatively flat and scenic, allowing you to enjoy the views as you ride.
