From the Port Douglas town center, walk to the Port Douglas bus stop located on Macrossan Street. Look for the local bus service that travels to Mossman. You will want to board the bus that goes to Mossman as it will take you along Captain Cook Highway. Inform the driver that you would like to get off at Cooya Beach. The bus ride will take approximately 15-20 minutes, and the bus stop for Cooya Beach is near the intersection of the highway and Cooya Beach Road.

Bicycle Rental
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in Port Douglas. Head towards Port Douglas Road and follow it to the junction with Captain Cook Highway. After about 1.5 km, turn left onto Captain Cook Highway. Continue cycling for about 3 km until you see the sign for Cooya Beach. Once you reach Cooya Beach Road, follow it until you arrive at the beach area.

Walking
If you’re up for a long walk, you can start from the Port Douglas town center and walk along Port Douglas Road towards Captain Cook Highway. It's approximately a 5 km walk. Once you reach the highway, turn left and continue walking for about 3 km until you reach the sign for Cooya Beach. Turn right onto Cooya Beach Road and walk straight until you arrive at the beach.

You can also use a taxi or rideshare service like Uber from Port Douglas. Simply request a ride to Cooya Beach and provide the address: Cooya Beach QLD 4873. The journey will take about 10-15 minutes depending on traffic, and it is a straightforward drive along Captain Cook Highway.
