Getting There

Walking
Begin your journey at the heart of Port Douglas on Macrossan Street, which is the main street filled with shops and cafes. Walk north along Macrossan Street until you reach the end at the intersection with Wharf Street. Continue straight onto Wharf Street, heading towards the marina area. From Wharf Street, turn left onto Port Douglas Road (also known as Captain Cook Highway) and follow the road for about 3 kilometers. Look for signs indicating the way to the Daintree National Park and Cape Tribulation. After approximately 30 minutes of walking, you will reach the entrance to the Daintree National Park. Here, you can take a bus or a shuttle service to the Madja Boardwalk entrance.

Public Transport
From Port Douglas, catch the local shuttle service (such as the Daintree Discovery Shuttle) which operates regularly between Port Douglas and the Daintree National Park. Board the shuttle at designated stops in Port Douglas. Inform the driver you want to visit Madja Boardwalk, and they will drop you off at the closest point. The shuttle ride will take approximately 45 minutes. Once you arrive, follow the signs to the Madja Boardwalk entrance, which is a short walk from the drop-off point.

Bicycle
If you're feeling adventurous, rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Port Douglas. Start your ride on Macrossan Street and head north, following the same route as the walking directions. The ride to the Daintree National Park entrance is about 3 kilometers and will take approximately 15-20 minutes. Once you arrive, park your bicycle at the entrance and take the shuttle or walk to the Madja Boardwalk.
