Walking
From the center of Port Douglas, head east on Macrossan Street towards the beach. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Wharf Street. Turn left onto Wharf Street and follow it as it curves until you reach the end. Here, you will find the bus stop for the Cape Tribulation shuttle. Take the shuttle service that operates towards Cape Tribulation. The journey will take about 1.5 hours. You will need to get off at the Mount Alexandra Lookout stop on Cape Tribulation Road.
Bicycle
From Port Douglas, rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops. Start by heading east on Macrossan Street and then take a left onto Wharf Street. Follow the road along the coastline, which will eventually lead you to Cape Tribulation Road. Continue straight on Cape Tribulation Road for approximately 30 kilometers. You will find Mount Alexandra Lookout on your right-hand side. Ensure you are well-prepared with water and snacks for the ride.
Shuttle Bus
Locate the shuttle bus service in Port Douglas that goes to Cape Tribulation. This is usually found at the main bus station near the center of town. Purchase a ticket for the shuttle to Cape Tribulation. The bus will take you directly to the lookout. It’s advisable to check the shuttle schedule in advance as they may have limited departures throughout the day.
