Getting There

  Start at the Port Douglas Visitor Information Centre located on Macrossan Street. From there, head north along Macrossan Street towards Wharf Street. Turn left onto Wharf Street and continue walking until you reach the intersection with Port Douglas Road. When you reach Port Douglas Road, turn right. Follow Port Douglas Road, which will eventually merge into State Route 44. Continue walking along State Route 44, and you will see signs for the Mowbray River Foot Bridge. The footbridge is located approximately 4 km from the Visitor Information Centre, so be prepared for a leisurely walk. As you approach, look for the entrance that leads to the footbridge, which is a popular spot for scenic views and photography.

  If you're looking to cycle to the Mowbray River Foot Bridge, rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Port Douglas. Start at the Port Douglas Visitor Information Centre and head north along Macrossan Street. Turn left onto Wharf Street and then right onto Port Douglas Road. Continue cycling along Port Douglas Road, which will merge into State Route 44. This route is approximately 4 km long and will take you directly to the footbridge.
