Car
To reach Cathedral Gorge from any location in South West Australia by car, you will want to start on the Great Northern Highway (National Route 1). Driving from Perth, take the Great Northern Highway northbound for approximately 1,500 km. After reaching the town of Kununurra, take the Victoria Highway (National Route 1) towards the east for about 90 km until you reach the turn-off to Purnululu National Park. Follow the signs to Purnululu National Park and continue on the unsealed road for about 50 km to reach the Cathedral Gorge car park. Note that a 4WD vehicle is recommended for the last part of the journey. There is an entry fee of approximately AUD 13 per vehicle for Purnululu National Park.

From Kununurra, you can take a guided tour or a shuttle service to Purnululu National Park. Several tour companies operate in the area, providing transportation that includes entry fees to the park. Ensure to book this in advance as services can be limited. The cost for a day tour typically starts around AUD 200 per person, which includes transport and sometimes meals. Once in Purnululu, you will have to walk approximately 1 km from the car park to reach Cathedral Gorge.
