    To reach the Ochre Pits from a central location in the South West region, start by heading north on South Western Highway (National Route 1) towards Perth. Continue on this highway until you reach the junction with Great Eastern Highway (National Route 94). Take the Great Eastern Highway towards Kalgoorlie. Once you reach the outskirts of Kalgoorlie, follow the signs to the Eyre Highway (National Route 1) and head east. Continue on the Eyre Highway until you reach the turnoff for the Great Northern Highway. Follow the Great Northern Highway north, and then take the turnoff for the Buntine Highway. Follow this road to the junction of the Tanami Road. The Ochre Pits are located approximately 20 km off the Tanami Road. Please note that some sections of the road may be unsealed, so a 4WD vehicle is recommended.
