Car
If you are starting from Cairns, take the Bruce Highway (A1) south towards Gordonvale. After about 25 km, take the exit onto the Palmerston Highway (B100) towards Innisfail. Continue on the Palmerston Highway for approximately 45 km until you reach the Tchupala Falls parking area. Look for a small parking area on the left side of the highway just before you reach the falls. There are no fees for parking.
Public Transportation
Start your journey from Cairns Central Station. Take a bus or train to Innisfail. Once in Innisfail, you may need to use a taxi service to reach Tchupala Falls, as public transport options are limited in this area. The taxi ride will take around 30 minutes. Expect to pay approximately AUD 50 to 70 for the taxi fare. Be sure to schedule your return trip or inquire about local taxi services in advance, as they may not always be readily available.
Walking
From the parking area on the Palmerston Highway, follow the marked walking trail that leads to Tchupala Falls. The walk is about 1 km and should take around 20-30 minutes. The trail can be slippery, so wear appropriate footwear and take care while walking.
