Car
If you're driving from Sydney, take the M4 Motorway towards Penrith. Continue on the M4, then take the exit towards the Great Western Highway (A32). Follow the Great Western Highway for approximately 60 km until you reach Katoomba. At Katoomba, turn onto Cliff Drive, which will take you towards the Blue Mountains National Park. Look for the signs indicating the Ruined Castle walking track. Park at the nearby parking area (note: parking fees may apply) and begin your hike towards Ruined Castle.
Public Transportation
To reach Ruined Castle via public transport, take a train from Central Station in Sydney towards Katoomba on the Blue Mountains Line. The journey takes about 2 hours. Once you arrive at Katoomba Station, exit the station and walk to the bus stop (approx. 10 minutes walk) where you can catch a bus to Scenic World. From Scenic World, follow the signs to the Ruined Castle walking track. Be prepared to hike for about 1 hour to reach Ruined Castle from Scenic World.
Walking
After parking your car at the designated area or arriving at Scenic World via bus, follow the marked walking track towards Ruined Castle. The walk is approximately 3 km one way and will take around 1 hour. The path is well-maintained but may include some steep sections, so be sure to wear appropriate footwear and carry water and snacks.
