Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving, start from central Sydney and take the Eastern Distributor towards the south. Continue onto the M1 Pacific Motorway and then take the exit towards La Perouse. Follow Anzac Parade and turn left onto Botany Bay Road. There will be signs directing you to Bare Island. Park your car at the designated parking areas near the entrance of La Perouse. Note that parking may incur a fee of approximately AUD 2-4 per hour.

  • Public Transport - Train and Bus

    Start by taking a train from Central Station to Kingsford Station on the Eastern Suburbs Line. Once you arrive at Kingsford Station, exit the station and catch Bus 391 towards La Perouse. The bus ride takes approximately 20 minutes. Get off at the stop named 'La Perouse'. From there, it is a short walk to the Bare Island entrance. Be sure to check the bus timetable as services may vary, and a one-way ticket will cost around AUD 3.50.

  • Public Transport - Ferry

    Although there is no direct ferry to Bare Island, you can take a ferry from Circular Quay to La Perouse. From Circular Quay, board the ferry to Watsons Bay, and then switch to bus 391 at the Watsons Bay terminus that will take you to La Perouse. This route provides scenic views of Sydney Harbour. The ferry fare is approximately AUD 7.00 one way, and the bus fare is approximately AUD 3.50.
