Start your journey at Circular Quay, which is the main ferry terminal in Sydney. Board a ferry heading to Mosman or Taronga Zoo. The ferry ride offers stunning views of the Sydney Harbour. Disembark at the Mosman Bay Wharf. From there, you can walk to the Outer Middle Head Forts.

After getting off the ferry at Mosman Bay Wharf, head north along the waterfront. You will see a footpath that leads you towards Mosman Park. Follow the signs to the Middle Head area. It’s a scenic walk that will take approximately 30 minutes. Keep an eye out for the signs directing you to the Outer Middle Head Forts.

From Mosman Bay Wharf, you can also take a bus if you prefer not to walk. Catch the bus number 238 or 239 from the bus stop near the wharf. The bus will take you closer to Middle Head. Get off at the stop closest to Middle Head road, then follow the directions to the forts, which are within walking distance from the bus stop.

If you enjoy cycling, consider renting a bike in Mosman. There are bike paths that lead towards Middle Head. You can ride along the scenic coastal routes, and it will take you about 15-20 minutes to reach the Outer Middle Head Forts from central Mosman.
