Getting There

• Train

  If you are in the Sydney CBD (Central Business District), head to the nearest train station, such as Circular Quay Station. From there, take a train on the T2, T3, or T8 lines towards the direction of either Central or Town Hall. Get off at Circular Quay Station, which is the closest station to The Rocks. Once you exit the station, follow the signs to Circular Quay and you will find yourself near the waterfront.

• Ferry

  From Circular Quay, you can take a ferry to enjoy a scenic ride. Board any ferry that stops at Circular Quay, such as the Manly Ferry or the Parramatta Ferry. Although they do not stop directly at The Rocks, you can take the ferry to Manly or Darling Harbour and then walk back towards The Rocks, following the waterfront. This option offers stunning views of the Sydney Harbour.

• Bus

  From various locations in Sydney, you can catch a bus that goes to The Rocks. Look for bus stops that have services such as the 431, 433, or 500. Check the local bus timetable for the exact stop closest to you. Ask the bus driver to alert you when you reach the stop for The Rocks. Once you get off, follow the signs to The Rocks, which is within walking distance.

• Walking

  If you are already in the Sydney CBD, The Rocks is an easy walk from many key locations. For instance, if you are at the Sydney Opera House, simply walk along the waterfront promenade. It should take about 20 minutes. You can also walk from Darling Harbour by following the signs along the pedestrian pathways, which will take you to The Rocks in about 30 minutes.

• Light Rail

  You can take the Light Rail from various points in Sydney. If you are near the Light Rail stations like Capitol Square or Haymarket, board the Light Rail towards Dulwich Hill. Get off at the Pyrmont Bay station, and then it is about a 15-minute walk to The Rocks. Just follow the signs towards the city and then head towards George Street, which will lead you right to The Rocks area.
