Wonderful performance but ...

This was definitely a wonderful production but there were a few issues that keep me from giving it 5 stars. I apparently did not read the description carefully enough- I didn't realize until the morning of the event that it was outside in Sydney Harbour NOT at the iconic Opera House. Fortunately, we had good weather but the fine print made it clear that they do not cancel for rain. Only electrical storms or high winds will shut it down. Also, while Google maps might show that you can walk from Circular Quay through the Botanic Garden, the gates close at 6pm. Since we didn't have enough time to walk around the gardens, we ended up taking a water taxi. Our seats were great for viewing the performance but were incredibly uncomfortable. I'd advise bring a heavy shawl or extra jacket to put under your bum. None of these issues were Viator's fault; I should have looked more closely at the event. And a benefit of the outdoor venue is that the special effects were stunning in ways that would be unsafe indoors. So do go, but prepare properly.

Carmen – Great voices, but a very modern staging

It was my first time at an opera, and I chose Carmen in Sydney for its music and story. From the very first moment, I was impressed by the voices, the acting, and the passion of the performers; the orchestra was impeccable, and the energy on stage drew me in completely. However, the costumes threw me off a bit. I couldn’t tell in which era the story was set, and personally, I believe part of the beauty of opera lies in seeing the elegance of its original period—those refined dresses, the graceful women, the charm of a time we no longer see today. I understand the production aimed for a modern interpretation, but for me, I would have loved to enjoy it with the classic look and costumes I had imagined. Even so, I will cherish this night as a special memory, grateful for the talent and dedication of everyone who brought this Carmen to life.

Great New Years Eve Performance

We booked a gala dinner and the performance in the opera, with closing ceremony of new years faire works, amazing. unfortunate was the Etiquete, we have bin requested toi dress smart for the occasion, but there was no control for the performance, clients dressing shorts, unadequate dressed; and worse was that clients could buy the drinks and bring them to the performance. a better control should be made
