Car
From Darwin, take the Stuart Highway (National Route 1) heading south. After approximately 220 km, turn left onto the Victoria Highway (National Route 1) toward Kununurra. Continue for about 440 km until you reach the junction with the Great Northern Highway (National Route 1). Turn left onto the Great Northern Highway and travel for 70 km, then turn right onto the Purnululu National Park Road (unsealed road). Follow this road for about 53 km until you reach the Cathedral Gorge car park. Note that a 4WD vehicle is recommended for the unsealed sections.

Public Transportation
Take a Greyhound Australia bus from Darwin to Kununurra. The bus ride takes about 30 hours, so plan ahead. Once in Kununurra, you can hire a 4WD vehicle or join a tour that includes transport to Purnululu National Park. From Kununurra, drive about 50 km south on the Great Northern Highway, then turn right onto Purnululu National Park Road (unsealed) and follow it for about 53 km to the Cathedral Gorge car park. Be aware that there may be additional costs for the vehicle hire or tours.
