Getting There

  • Car

    To reach Walpa Gorge by car, start from the Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre. Head west on the main road (Luritja Road) for about 20 kilometers until you reach the intersection with the road leading to Kata Tjuta (The Olgas). Turn left onto the road towards Kata Tjuta. Continue on this road for approximately 10 kilometers until you see the Walpa Gorge car park on your left. Park your vehicle in the designated parking area.

  • Public Transportation (Tour Shuttle)

    If you are using public transportation, check if your accommodation provides a shuttle service to the Kata Tjuta viewing area. Many hotels and lodges in the area offer this service. Once you arrive at the Kata Tjuta viewing area, you can either walk to the Walpa Gorge trailhead, which is about a 1.5-kilometer walk along the designated path, or check if a local tour operator is offering a shuttle service directly to Walpa Gorge.

    If you are close enough and prefer to walk, from the Walpa Gorge car park, the trail begins at the eastern end of the parking area.
