Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving from Warrnambool, head northeast on the Princes Highway (A1) towards Portland. After approximately 70 km, take the exit toward Portland. Continue on the Princes Highway until you reach the intersection with Henty Highway (B101). Turn left onto Henty Highway and follow the signs to Portland. Once you arrive in Portland, turn onto Hood Street. Fawthrop Lagoon will be on your left, near the entrance of the natural reserve.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Fawthrop Lagoon via public transport, take a V/Line train from Melbourne to Warrnambool. From Warrnambool, you can catch a bus to Portland operated by the Warrnambool Bus Service. Once in Portland, you can either walk or take a local taxi service to Hood Street. Fawthrop Lagoon is about a 10-minute walk from the bus stop in Portland. Be sure to check the local bus schedules ahead of time to ensure timely connections.

• Walking

  If you find yourself in the town of Portland, you can easily walk to Fawthrop Lagoon. From the main shopping area of Portland, head towards the waterfront and follow the path along the coastline. Continue on to Hood Street, where you will find Fawthrop Lagoon. The walk will take approximately 20-30 minutes depending on your pace.

• Taxi or Rideshare

  If you prefer a more direct route from Portland, consider taking a taxi or using a rideshare service like Uber. Simply input 'Fawthrop Lagoon, Hood St, Portland VIC 3305' as your destination. The drive from the town center to the lagoon should take about 5-10 minutes, depending on traffic.
