Car
If you are traveling by car, start by heading to the nearest major town, which is Ararat. From Ararat, take the Western Highway (A8) toward Ballarat. After approximately 20 kilometers, take the exit onto the Pyrenees Highway (B180) towards Avoca. Continue on B180 for about 25 kilometers until you reach the intersection with the Sunraysia Highway (A79). Turn left onto A79 and drive for 15 kilometers. Look for the signs directing you to Bornes Hill. You will need to take a right turn onto a local road leading to Signal Peak located at C9C6+6R, Bornes Hill VIC 3379. Parking is available nearby.
Public Transportation
For public transportation, you can take a V/Line train from Melbourne to Ararat. Once in Ararat, you will need to catch a local bus to reach Bornes Hill. Please check the V/Line website for the latest schedules and ticket prices, which typically range from AUD 20 to AUD 30 one way. Upon arrival at the Bornes Hill bus stop, you may need to walk approximately 2 kilometers to reach the Signal Peak location (C9C6+6R). Alternatively, you can use a rideshare service like Uber from the bus stop to Signal Peak if available, which may cost around AUD 10 to AUD 15.
Bicycle
For those adventurous enough to bicycle, start from Ararat and follow the same route as the car guidance. The ride will be approximately 60 kilometers and may take around 3-4 hours depending on your fitness level. Ensure you have a good map or GPS, as some sections may have limited signage. Bring plenty of water and snacks, as there may not be services along the route.
