Car
If you're traveling by car, head towards Ararat, a central location in the Western District. From the Hume Highway (M31), take the exit towards Ararat via the Pyrenees Highway (B220). Follow the B220 until you reach Ararat. Once in Ararat, continue on Barkly Street and turn onto Girdlestone Street. The J Ward Gaol, where the Ghost Tour takes place, will be on your left. Free parking is available on-site.

For those using public transport, take a V/Line train from Melbourne to Ararat Station. Trains run several times a day, and the journey takes approximately 2.5 hours. Upon arrival at Ararat Station, you can take a taxi directly to J Ward Gaol (approximately 5 minutes, fares starting around $10). Alternatively, if you prefer walking, it's about a 30-minute walk from the station. Head north on Barkly Street, turn left onto Girdlestone Street, and continue to J Ward Gaol.
