Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, head towards Velden am Wörthersee, which is located in the southern part of Austria in Carinthia. From Klagenfurt, take the A2 motorway towards Villach. Exit at Velden and follow the signs towards the town center. Upon entering Velden, continue straight until you reach the lakeside promenade. Schlossteich is located near the lake and is easily identifiable by its scenic views. There are several parking options available near the promenade, with parking fees typically ranging from €1-€2 per hour.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, take a train to Velden am Wörthersee from Klagenfurt. Trains run frequently, and the journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Velden train station, exit and look for the bus stop directly outside. You can take Bus 522 towards Pörtschach and get off at 'Velden, Lido' stop, which is a short walk from Schlossteich. Alternatively, it’s a pleasant 15-minute walk from the station to the lakeside area where Schlossteich is located. Always check the current bus schedules ahead of time as they can vary.

• Bicycle

  If you're feeling adventurous, renting a bicycle is a wonderful way to reach Schlossteich. Many bike rental shops are available in Klagenfurt and Velden. From Klagenfurt, cycle along the scenic routes that follow the Wörthersee, which takes approximately 45 minutes. There are dedicated bike paths leading directly to Velden, and once you arrive, follow the lakeside path to Schlossteich. Remember to wear a helmet and be mindful of other cyclists and pedestrians along the route.
