Car
If you are driving to Dachstein Hängebrücke, navigate to the town of Obertraun, located at the base of the Dachstein Mountains. From the A10 motorway, take the exit towards Obertraun (Exit 60). Follow the signs for B166, heading towards Obertraun. Once in Obertraun, follow the signs to the Dachstein cable car station. Park your car in the designated parking area at the base of the cable car. Note that parking fees may apply, typically around €5 per day.
Public Transportation
To reach Dachstein Hängebrücke by public transportation, take a train to the Obertraun Dachsteinbahn train station. From central Salzburg, you can take a train to Hallstatt and then transfer to a local train to Obertraun. Once you arrive at the Obertraun Dachsteinbahn station, follow the signs to the Dachstein cable car station, which is about a 10-minute walk from the train station. Be prepared to purchase a cable car ticket, which typically costs around €40 for a round trip to the Dachstein summit. Check the schedule in advance to ensure a smooth journey.
Cable Car
After reaching the Dachstein cable car station, purchase your ticket and board the cable car. The cable car will take you to the Dachstein-Hunerkogel summit, where the Dachstein Hängebrücke is located. The ride takes approximately 15 minutes and offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Once you arrive, follow the signs to the Hängebrücke, which is a short walk from the cable car station.
