From Obertraun, take the B166 road towards the Dachstein cable car station. Follow the signs for the Dachstein Gletscherbahn, which is well-marked. The drive takes approximately 15 minutes. There is a parking area available at the cable car station, but be aware that parking fees may apply.

If you prefer public transportation, take a bus from Obertraun to the Schladming-Dachstein region. You can catch the bus at the Obertraun Dachsteinhöhlen stop. The bus service operates regularly, and the ride to the Dachstein Gletscherbahn takes around 30 minutes. Check the local bus schedules for times. Once you arrive at the Dachstein Gletscherbahn station, you will need to purchase a ticket for the cable car to ascend to Dachsteingletscher. The cable car ticket costs approximately €36 for a round trip.
