If you are driving, head towards Salzburg. From Flachgau, take the A1 highway and follow the signs towards Salzburg. Once in Salzburg, take the exit 4 towards Salzburg-Zentrum. Follow the signs to Mönchsberg and park at the designated parking areas nearby the Hohensalzburg Fortress. Note that parking fees may apply, so have cash or a credit card ready.

Use the public transportation system to reach Festungsmuseum. From Flachgau, take a regional train (ÖBB) towards Salzburg. Get off at Salzburg Hauptbahnhof (main train station). From there, you can take bus line 5 or 25 to the 'Festung Hohensalzburg' stop. The bus ride will take approximately 15 minutes. Alternatively, you can take a pleasant 20-minute walk from the train station to the fortress, following the signs to Mönchsberg.
