Car
If you're driving, take the Grossglockner High Alpine Road (B107) and follow the signs towards Pasterze. You will need to pay a toll to enter the road; the current fee is around €38 per car for a single trip or €27 for a motorcycle. After entering the road, continue until you reach the Pasterze parking area near the Franz-Josefs-Höhe visitor center. From there, follow the marked hiking trails towards Pasterze, which is approximately a 30-minute walk.
Public Transportation
If you're using public transportation, take a bus to the Grossglockner High Alpine Road from nearby towns like Zell am See or Kaprun. Check the local bus schedules for the most accurate times. Once you arrive at the visitor center (Franz-Josefs-Höhe), you can walk the remaining distance to Pasterze. The hike will take you around 30 minutes along a well-maintained path.
Hiking
From the Franz-Josefs-Höhe visitor center, follow the path that leads to the glacier. The trail is marked and fairly easy to navigate, with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains.
