Walking
From the center of Hallstatt, make your way to the shore of Lake Hallstatt. Head towards the west along the lakeside path. You'll pass by beautiful views of the lake and mountains. Continue walking for about 20 minutes until you reach the boat dock at the end of the lake. Here, you can catch a ferry to Altaussee. The ferry ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the dock in Altaussee, walk uphill towards Lichtersberg. Follow the signs for Salzwelten Altaussee, which is about a 15-minute walk from the ferry dock.

From Hallstatt, walk to the bus stop located near the main square. Take the bus number 542 towards Altaussee. The bus ride will take about 30 minutes. Get off at the 'Lichtersberg' stop. From there, follow the signs directing you to Salzwelten Altaussee, which is about a 10-minute walk. You will head uphill and follow the road until you reach the entrance of the mine.
