If you are traveling by car, start by heading towards the Großglockner High Alpine Road (Großglockner Hochalpenstraße). The road is well signposted and runs through the Hohe Tauern National Park. From the town of Fusch, take the B168 road, following the signs for the Großglockner Road. As you ascend, you will encounter the toll booth where you need to pay a fee of approximately €38 for a single vehicle. Continue driving along the scenic route until you reach the Edelweißspitze parking area, which is located at an altitude of 2,571 meters. You'll find the road leading directly to Edelweißspitze off the main road, with additional signs directing you to this remarkable viewpoint.
Public Transportation
If you prefer public transportation, take a bus from the nearby town of Fusch to the Großglockner High Alpine Road. You will need to check the local bus schedule as services may vary. The bus will take you to the toll entrance area of the Großglockner Road. Once you arrive, you can either choose to hike the remaining distance to Edelweißspitze, which is about a 1.5 km walk uphill, or find a shuttle service that may operate during peak tourist seasons. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and be prepared for changes in weather as you ascend.
