Getting There

  • Car

    If you're driving from Innsbruck-Land, head towards Innsbruck city center. Take the A12 motorway and exit at Innsbruck-West. Follow signs for the city center and then follow Weiherburggasse. The Alpenzoo will be on your right. There is parking available near the zoo, but be aware that there may be parking fees.

  • Public Transportation

    To reach Alpenzoo by public transport, take the Innsbruck tram line 1 from any station in Innsbruck-Land towards the 'Igls' tram stop. Get off at the 'Mühlauer Brücke' stop. From there, you can either walk about 20 minutes uphill to the zoo or take bus line 4136 towards 'Alpenzoo'. The bus fare is approximately €2.50 for a single trip.

    If you prefer to walk from the 'Mühlauer Brücke' tram stop, head north on Mühlauer Brücke, then take the path leading uphill towards Weiherburggasse. Follow the signs for Alpenzoo. The walk is steep but offers beautiful views of Innsbruck along the way, taking about 20 minutes.
