After parking, follow the marked hiking trail that leads to Grutten Hut, which will take about 1.5 to 2 hours of hiking.

For those using public transportation, take a train to the nearest station, which is Kufstein or St. Johann in Tirol. From there, you can catch a local bus to Ellmau. Once in Ellmau, walk towards the center of town and look for signs directing you to Grutten Hut. The walk from the bus stop to the trailhead takes about 15 minutes. After reaching the hiking trail, expect a 1.5 to 2-hour hike to the hut.
