Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving from various locations in the Karwendel Mountains, head towards Innsbruck. Follow the signs to Innsbruck on the main roads. Once in Innsbruck, look for signs directing you to the city center. You will want to take the A12 motorway (Inntal Autobahn). Exit at Innsbruck West and follow the road signs towards the city center. Continue until you reach Weiherburggasse; the Alpenzoo will be on your right, and there is parking available near the entrance. Please note that parking may incur a fee, typically around €2-€3 per hour.

  • Public Transportation

    If you are using public transportation, you can take a train or bus to Innsbruck from various locations in the Karwendel Mountains. Upon arriving at Innsbruck Hauptbahnhof (the main train station), exit the station and head to the bus terminal, which is adjacent to the train station. Here, you can catch the bus line 4141, which goes directly to the Alpenzoo. The bus ride takes approximately 20 minutes. Make sure to buy a ticket before boarding, which costs about €2.70. You will need to get off at the 'Alpenzoo' stop, and from there, it is a short walk to the entrance.
