Car
If you are traveling by car, head towards Scharnitz. From Innsbruck, take the A12 motorway and exit at Zirl, then follow the B177 towards Scharnitz. Once in Scharnitz, continue on Hinterautalstraße for about 5 km. You will find Gleirschklamm' Gorge at Hinterautalstraße 555b, 6108 Scharnitz. There is parking available nearby, but be aware that some areas may require a parking fee.
Public Transportation
To reach Gleirschklamm' Gorge using public transport, take a train from Innsbruck to Scharnitz. The train journey typically takes around 40 minutes. Once you arrive at Scharnitz train station, exit the station and walk towards Hinterautalstraße. It’s about a 1-hour walk (approx. 4.5 km) to the gorge. Alternatively, you can catch a local bus (check local schedules for availability) that may take you closer to the gorge.
Walking
If you are already in the vicinity of Scharnitz, you can walk to Gleirschklamm' Gorge. From the center of Scharnitz, head towards Hinterautalstraße, which is well-marked. Follow the road for about 5 km, and you will reach the gorge. The walk is scenic and allows you to enjoy the beautiful landscape of the Karwendel region.
