Getting there

Car

If you are driving, start from Innsbruck and take the A12 motorway towards Kufstein. Exit at 'Zirl' and follow signs for 'Karwendel' and 'Pertisau.' After about 15 km, turn onto B181 towards Pertisau. Continue until you reach the parking area near the boat landing at Achensee. The hike to Goldbichl begins here. Parking fees may apply, generally around €5 for the day.

Public Transportation

From Innsbruck, take the train from Innsbruck Hauptbahnhof (main station) to Jenbach. The train ride takes about 40 minutes. Once at Jenbach, transfer to the Achensee cog railway (Zahnradbahn) to get to the Achensee lake area. The train tickets cost approximately €10-€15 one way. After arriving at the Achensee station, walk towards the boat landing, where you can begin your hike to Goldbichl.

Hiking

From the parking area at the Achensee boat landing, head towards the hiking trails that lead up to Goldbichl. The trail is well-marked and takes about 1.5 to 2 hours of moderate hiking to reach the peak. Make sure to wear appropriate footwear and carry water and snacks. The hike offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains and the Achensee lake.
