Getting there

Car

If you're traveling by car, start from the nearest major town, which is Tegernsee. From Tegernsee, take B318 towards Gmund am Tegernsee. After about 7 km, turn onto B307 towards Jachenau. Continue on B307 for approximately 15 km, enjoying the scenic views of the Karwendel Mountains. Upon reaching Jachenau village, follow the signs to Jachenau Wasserfall. There are designated parking areas near the waterfall, but be aware that parking may incur a fee in peak season.

Public Transportation

To reach Jachenau Wasserfall via public transportation, take a train from Munich to Tegernsee. The journey takes around 1 hour. Once you arrive at Tegernsee, transfer to the local bus service (Bus number 955) towards Jachenau. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the 'Jachenau' stop. From there, it's a short 10-15 minute walk to Jachenau Wasserfall. Make sure to check the bus schedules ahead of time as they may vary, especially on weekends.

Hiking
