Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, head towards the A4 motorway, which is well connected to Lake Neusiedl. Take the exit toward Wien (Vienna) and follow signs for the A23. Merge onto A23 and continue until you reach the exit for Landstraße. Follow the signs towards the city center. As you approach the Innere Stadt area, look for parking options; there are several garages available nearby, such as the Parkgarage am Hof. Once parked, it's a short walk to Maria-Theresien-Platz.

• Train

  For those opting for public transport, take a train from any station around Lake Neusiedl to Wien Hauptbahnhof (Vienna Central Station). Trains typically run every 30 minutes, and the journey takes around 30-45 minutes. From Wien Hauptbahnhof, transfer to the U-Bahn (subway) line U1 towards Leopoldau and get off at Stephansplatz station. Then, transfer to the U2 line towards Karlsplatz and disembark at the Museumsquartier station. From there, it’s a 10-minute walk to Maria-Theresien-Platz, where you can enjoy the historic plaza and its surroundings.

• Bus

  Alternatively, you can take a bus from Lake Neusiedl to Vienna. Look for regional bus services that connect to Vienna, such as those operated by PostBus or FlixBus. The bus will drop you off at a central location in Vienna, such as the Westbahnhof or Erdberg bus stations. From either station, use the U-Bahn: at Westbahnhof, take U6 to Längenfeldgasse, then transfer to U4 to Karlsplatz. At Erdberg, take U3 towards Stephansplatz, then transfer to U2 towards Museumsquartier. Maria-Theresien-Platz is a short walk from either station.
