Getting There

Car
From Mayrhofen, head north on B169 towards Finkenberg. Continue on B169 for about 7 km until you reach the turnoff for the Schlegeis Stausee. Follow the signs for Schlegeis Stausee, which will lead you onto the Schlegeisstrasse. The road will narrow and wind through the mountain. Drive approximately 13 km until you reach the parking area near the dam. There is a parking fee of around €5. The views along the way are stunning, so make sure to take your time!

Public Transportation
From Mayrhofen, take the bus line 833 towards Finkenberg. The bus departs from the Mayrhofen bus station. The journey takes about 20 minutes. Get off at the Finkenberg, Bahnhof stop. From there, you can find the Schlegeis Stausee shuttle bus that operates during the warmer months. This shuttle will take you directly to the dam area. The shuttle costs about €6 for a round trip. Make sure to check the schedule ahead of your trip, as the shuttle runs less frequently in the early morning and late afternoon.
