Car
If you are traveling by car within Mühlviertel, head towards the town of Hagenberg im Mühlkreis. From the center of Linz, take the A7 highway towards Freistadt. After about 20 km, take the exit towards Hagenberg. Follow the signs for Hagenberg im Mühlkreis, which will lead you to Kirchenplatz. Hagenberg Castle is located at Kirchenpl. 5, 4232 Hagenberg im Mühlkreis. There is on-street parking available near the castle, but be mindful of any parking regulations. No external costs are incurred for parking but ensure to check for any time limits.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, start at Linz main train station (Linz Hauptbahnhof). Take a regional train towards Freistadt (approximately 30 minutes). Disembark at the Hagenberg im Mühlkreis train station. From there, you can either walk to Hagenberg Castle, which is about a 15-minute walk (1.2 km) through scenic routes, or take a local bus if available. The castle is located at Kirchenpl. 5.
