From Innsbruck, take bus line 4134 towards Tulfes. The bus stops near the Glungezerbahn valley station. From the valley station, take the Glungezerbahn gondola to Halsmarter. Transfer to the Tulfein Express, a combined gondola/chairlift, to reach Tulfein mountain station. From there, a 2-person chairlift provides access to Schartenkogel. Bus fare from Innsbruck to Tulfes is approximately €4-6. A day ski pass, including the lifts, costs around €45 for adults.

From the Inn Valley, take the Hall Mitte exit on the A12 highway. Follow the signs to Tulfes, approximately 6 km from Hall in Tirol. Continue to the Glungezerbahn valley station. Free parking is available. From the valley station, take the Glungezerbahn gondola to Halsmarter. Transfer to the Tulfein Express, a combined gondola/chairlift, to reach Tulfein mountain station. From there, a 2-person chairlift provides access to Schartenkogel. Note that there are no tolls on the immediate approach to Tulfes.
