From Salzburg, take bus line 170 from Salzburg Main Station (Hauptbahnhof) towards Burghausen. The journey takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. Get off at the Burghausen Post stop. From there, walk straight along Bahnhofstraße, which will lead you to Burgstraße. Continue on Burgstraße until you reach the entrance of Burghausen Castle located at Burg 48.

From Salzburg Main Station (Hauptbahnhof), take a train towards Mühldorf am Inn. This train ride takes about 1 hour. Disembark at the Mühldorf station and transfer to a regional bus line (such as bus number 10) to Burghausen. Once you arrive at Burghausen, follow the signs towards the castle, which is situated on a hill above the town. The walk from the bus stop to the castle entrance is approximately 15 minutes.
