If you are traveling by car, start from Schladming. Head northwest on B320 towards Obertraun. Follow B320 for approximately 15 km until you reach the junction for L547. Turn left onto L547, which will take you directly into Obertraun. Continue on L547 until you see signs for Dachsteingletscher. There is a parking area available near the cable car station. Note that parking fees may apply.

For those using public transportation, take a train from Schladming to Obertraun. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Obertraun train station, you can take a local bus (Line 542) that heads towards the Dachsteingletscher. The bus ride is approximately 15 minutes. Get off at the Dachsteingletscher stop, which is clearly marked. Be sure to check the local bus schedule in advance, as service may vary.

After reaching the Dachsteingletscher stop by bus, you will need to take the Dachstein cable car to ascend to the glacier.
