Getting There
Public Transport
From Schladming train station, take the free ski bus or the city bus to Planet Planai, the valley station of the Planai cable car. The bus journey takes about 5-10 minutes. From Planet Planai, the Planai cable car provides direct access to the mountain. A single ride on the funicular costs between €2-€4. The ski bus is free with a valid ski pass.
Walking
From the center of Schladming, follow the signs to Planai. The walk to Planet Planai, the valley station, takes approximately 15-20 minutes. From there, take the Planai cable car to the mountain. Alternatively, for a more challenging ascent, follow hiking trail n° 50 from Schladming to Planai, which takes approximately 3 hours. Note that this is a steep hike.
Driving
From the B320 highway, take the Schladming-Ost exit and follow the signs to Planai Seilbahn. Continue to the roundabout and take the third exit towards Zentrum (town center). At the next roundabout, take the third exit again, which leads directly to the Planai cable car valley terminal at Planai stadium. Parking is available at the Planai multi-story car park or the underground car park near the valley station. Parking at the Hotel Planai underground garage costs €12 per night. Free parking is available at the Planai Stadium. E-car charging stations are available in the underground parking.
