Overview
The Treppe ins Nichts, or Stairway to Nothingness, is a highlight of the Dachstein Glacier experience, offering a unique blend of adrenaline and breathtaking scenery. Completed in July 2013, this observation deck is directly connected to the Dachstein Suspension Bridge and stands 400 meters above the base of the rock face.The stairway consists of 14 narrow steps leading down to a glass platform that can accommodate a maximum of four people. The construction of the stairway and suspension bridge required 58 mm thick steel cables, 63 tons of steel, and concrete transported by snow groomers. The total weight of the stairway is five tons.Visitors who dare to venture onto the Treppe ins Nichts are rewarded with a 360-degree panoramic view of the surrounding Alpine landscape. The vista includes the glacier landscape, rugged cliffs, and majestic peaks, creating a sense of freedom and awe. The Skywalk, Ice Palace, and Dachstein Suspension Bridge are other attractions near the Stairway to Nothingness.
