    Getting There

    Driving

    From Schladming, follow the B320 Ennstal Bundesstrasse to the Ruperting exit. Then follow signs for Steirischer Bodensee. Alternatively, from Haus im Ennstal, follow signs to Gössenberg and then Steirischer Bodensee. Both routes lead to a 4.5km well-maintained toll road (open May-October). The toll is €4.20 per person and €1.90 per child. The Schladming-Dachstein Summer Card includes free access. Continue to the large parking area near the Seewigtal Stüberl restaurant. Parking is free. From the parking lot, it's an easy 15-minute walk on a flat path to the lake.

    Public Transport

    During the summer months (late May to mid-October), a hiking bus (Planai Bus) operates from Schladming (Planet Planai bus stop) via Haus im Ennstal to the Steirischer Bodensee parking lot. The bus ride is free with the Schladming-Dachstein Summer Card, which also covers the toll road fee. Without the Summer Card, a KlimaTicket Steiermark or Österreich may cover the bus fare (excluding the toll). From the parking lot, it's an easy 15-minute walk on a flat path to the lake. Check the Planaibus website for the current schedule.
