Car
If you are traveling by car, start by entering Hallein, which is located off the A10 Tauern Autobahn. Take the exit for Hallein and follow signs towards the city center. Once in Hallein, look for signs directing you to Burgruine Thürndl. The castle's coordinates are 47.6846065 latitude and 13.0835260 longitude. You can park your car at the designated parking area near the castle entrance. Please note that parking may incur a small fee.
Public Transportation
To reach Burgruine Thürndl via public transportation, take a train to Hallein from Salzburg or any nearby city. Once you arrive at Hallein train station, you can take bus line 170 or 180 towards Golling. Get off at the stop 'Hallein, Sägewerk' which is the closest stop to the castle. From there, it is about a 20-minute walk uphill to reach Burgruine Thürndl. Be sure to follow the signs for the castle as you ascend the path.
Walking
If you are already in Hallein and prefer to walk, you can start from the town center. Head towards the north side of the town, following signs for Burgruine Thürndl. The walk takes approximately 30-40 minutes and involves a moderate uphill hike. Wear comfortable shoes as the path can be uneven in places.
