Kursalon Hübner: A Melodic Gem in Vienna
Escape to Vienna's Stadtpark: a historic green oasis with monuments, tranquil gardens, and the iconic Johann Strauss statue.
Stadtpark, Vienna's first public park, opened in 1862, is a sprawling green space in the heart of the city. Designed in the English landscape style, it offers a tranquil escape with winding paths, statues of famous Viennese artists, and the Wien River flowing through it.
Opening times, essentials, and a few local tips gathered into one calmer, easier-to-scan planning section.
Public Transport
The Stadtpark is easily accessible via Vienna's extensive public transport network. The U4 metro line has a station directly at the Stadtpark, making it the most convenient option. Alternatively, the U3 line stops at Stubentor station, which is a short walk to the park. Numerous tram and bus lines also have stops near the park's perimeter. A single public transport ticket costs €2.40. If purchasing on a tram, the price is €2.60.
Walking
Stadtpark is centrally located and easily accessible on foot from many of Vienna's main attractions. From St. Stephen's Cathedral, walk along Kärntner Straße and then turn onto the Ringstraße. Continue along the Ring until you reach Parkring, where you'll find the entrance to Stadtpark. The walk is approximately 20 minutes. There are no costs associated with walking.
Taxi
Taxis are readily available throughout Vienna. A short taxi ride to Stadtpark from the city center will typically cost between €10 and €20, depending on the distance and traffic. The base fare for taxis in Vienna is €3.80, with additional charges per kilometer. Confirm the approximate fare with the driver before starting your journey.
