The Husarentempel, a classical monument in Mödling, Austria, stands as a tribute to the Austrian soldiers who fell during the Napoleonic Wars. Perched atop the Kleiner Anninger within the Föhrenberge Nature Park, it offers panoramic views of the Vienna Woods and surrounding landscapes. Originally commissioned as a wooden structure in 1810, it was rebuilt in 1813 by Josef Kornhäusel after a storm destroyed the original.

Public Transport
From Vienna, take the U6 subway line to the 'Mödling' station. Transfer to bus line 264 towards Vorderbrühl and alight at the 'Vorderbrühl' bus stop. Follow the well-marked hiking paths for approximately 45-60 minutes to reach the temple. A single bus fare from Mödling to Vorderbrühl is approximately €2.40.
Walking
From the Mödling train station, follow the signs towards the city center and then towards the Anninger mountain. The walk to the base of the hiking trails takes about 30 minutes. Several well-marked trails lead up to the Husarentempel, with the ascent taking another 45-60 minutes depending on your fitness level. The trails are free to access.
Taxi/Ride-Share
A taxi or ride-sharing service from the Mödling train station to the base of the hiking trails near Vorderbrühl will cost approximately €10-€15. From there, you will need to hike the remaining distance to the Husarentempel.
Driving
Drive to Mödling and follow signs towards Vorderbrühl. Limited parking is available near the Meiereiwiese, which is close to the start of the hiking trails. Parking fees at Meiereiwiese are approximately €3 per hour or €12 for the whole day. From the parking area, follow the hiking trails to reach the Husarentempel.
