Getting There

  • Walking

    The most common approach to the Peilsteinhaus is from Schwarzensee. From the parking area near the church in Schwarzensee, follow the signs towards Peilsteinhaus. The trail ascends gradually through the forest, crossing a forest road. Continue straight at the next junction, keeping right. The final section involves a short walk along the access road to the Peilsteinhaus. The walk takes approximately 30-40 minutes. Note that there is a strict no-driving policy on the road from Schwarzensee to Peilsteinhaus.

  • Public Transport

    To reach Schwarzensee using public transport, take a regional train from Vienna to either Baden bei Wien or Leobersdorf. From either of these stations, take Postbus line 556 towards Schwarzensee. Get off at Schwarzensee. From there, follow the walking directions to Peilsteinhaus. A single bus fare is approximately €4-6. Please check the current bus schedules.
