Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are in Wieden, start by heading north towards the Ringstraße. You can take the scenic route by walking along the beautiful streets filled with historical buildings. Depending on your exact location in Wieden, you may need to walk a few blocks. Once you reach the Ringstraße, you can follow it to the east. Continue walking along the Ringstraße until you see the entrance to the Volksgarten park on your left. Walk through the park, and you will arrive at Heldenplatz, which is directly adjacent to the Hofburg Palace.

    From Wieden, you can take tram line D towards 'Nußdorf'. Board the tram at the nearest stop to you. After about 5 stops, get off at 'Schwarzenbergplatz'. From there, walk north on 'Karlsplatz' towards the Ringstraße. Once you reach the Ringstraße, turn east and walk until you reach Heldenplatz. The tram ticket will cost you around €2.40, and you can purchase it at the tram stop.
