Walking
From the center of Spitz, including the train station and the Donaulände (Danube promenade), the Tausendeimerberg is easily accessible on foot. Head west along the Hauptstraße (main street) towards the church. Continue past the church and follow the signs for Tausendeimerberg. The walk is uphill and takes approximately 15-20 minutes. Note that the final ascent involves some moderately steep paths through the vineyard. There are no specific costs associated with walking to Tausendeimerberg.
Public Transport
If arriving by bus (e.g., bus 715 from Krems or Melk), disembark at the 'Spitz Friedhof' (Spitz Cemetery) stop. From there, follow the signs for Tausendeimerberg, which involves a short, uphill walk of approximately 5 minutes. A single bus fare within the Wachau region costs approximately €3-5. The Wachau day ticket (€12, children €6) covers bus travel in the Wachau region.
Driving
If driving, approach Spitz via the B3 highway. In Spitz, follow signs towards the Tausendeimerberg. Limited parking is available near the Friedhof (cemetery). Parking fees are not typically charged here. From the parking area, it's a short uphill walk (approx. 5 minutes) to the vineyard. Be aware that parking can be challenging. There is a short-term parking zone around the church square from Mo-Sun 08:00 – 19:00, with a parking period of 2 hours. There is free parking in the car park at Schloss Spitz.
