    Getting There

    Walking

    From Melk train station, the abbey is approximately a 10-minute uphill walk. Exit the station and follow the signs towards the town center and the abbey. The route is mostly uphill. As you approach the town square, the abbey will become visible on the rocky outcrop overlooking the Danube. Follow the road leading up to the abbey entrance.

    Public Transport

    From Melk train station, you can take the N-Bus line 671 to Melk Jakob-Prandtauer-Straße B, which is a short walk to the abbey. The bus ride takes approximately 2-4 minutes. Check the VOR website for the exact timetable. A single bus fare costs between €1-€11.

    Driving

    If driving, follow the A1 motorway to Melk. Take the Melk exit and follow the signs to the abbey. There is a large car park (STIFT MELK-P) available for visitors. Parking is free for visitors who purchase an admission ticket to the abbey; validate your parking ticket at the ticket office in the first courtyard. Without validation, leaving the parking lot costs money.
