Public Transport
From Krems, take the WL1 line 715 bus towards Melk. The bus departs hourly from Krems Stadtpark and arrives at Dürnstein Parkplatz P2 in approximately 15 minutes. From the Dürnstein Parkplatz P2, walk through the underpass to enter the old town. Follow the signs towards the town center and then to the Vogelbergsteig trail entrance. Bus fare is approximately €2-€11, tickets can be purchased directly on the bus.
Driving
From Krems, follow the B3 towards Dürnstein. Parking is available in one of the four paid parking lots outside the city center, as the city center of Dürnstein is a no-parking zone for cars. Parking costs approximately €6 for all-day parking. From the parking lot, walk through the underpass to enter the old town. Follow the signs towards the town center and then to the Vogelbergsteig trail entrance.
Walking
From Dürnstein city center, head west towards the end of town. Look for signs indicating the Vogelbergsteig trail. The trail begins at 'In der Went' near the Talgraben valley. Follow the marked hiking trail, which will lead you into the ravine and up the mountain. The walk from the town center to the trail entrance is approximately 10-15 minutes.
