From the Heidenreichstein Busbahnhof, the castle is approximately a 15-20 minute walk. Head west on the Schremser Straße, passing the Stadtplatz (main square). Continue on Schremser Straße; the castle will become visible on your left, surrounded by water. Follow the signs to the entrance.

If arriving by bus from Vienna or Gmünd, disembark at Heidenreichstein Busbahnhof. From there, follow the walking directions to the castle. A single bus fare within the region typically costs around €3-6. Bus 175 from Wien (Praterstern) to Heidenreichstein Busbahnhof is available. Also, Bus 741 from Gmünd Bahnhof to Heidenreichstein Busbahnhof is available.

From Gmünd, follow the B41 towards Heidenreichstein. As you enter Heidenreichstein, follow signs for Burg Heidenreichstein. Limited parking is available near the castle.
