  • Public Transport

    From Krems an der Donau, take a bus (Wachaulinie - WL1, Linie Melk-Pöggstall - WA50, Linie Am Schuss-Mühldorf-Spitz - WL5) to Maria Laach am Jauerling. From the Maria Laach Ortsmitte bus stop, it's approximately a 30-minute walk to the Nature Park House. A single bus fare costs approximately €3-5. Check the ÖBB website for accurate timings.

  • Driving

    From Krems an der Donau, follow the B3 towards Spitz. Continue on the B3, then take the B218 towards Maria Laach am Jauerling. Follow signs for Jauerling-Wachau Nature Park. Ample parking is available near the Nature Park House, a short walk from the summit. Parking is free.

The park encompasses seven municipalities: Aggsbach, Emmersdorf, Maria Laach, Mühldorf, Raxendorf, Spitz, and Weiten. Hiking is a major draw, with over 350 kilometers of well-maintained trails for all abilities. Family-friendly trails offer educational insights, while challenging routes like the pilgrimage trail and the Jauerling-Runde circular hiking trail provide rewarding experiences. The Jauerling-Runde, a 90km long-distance hiking trail, encircles the Jauerling, traversing the Danube and vineyards.
