    Discover more about Nonseum

The Nonseum, located in the small village of Herrnbaumgarten near the Czech border, is a unique and popular tourist attraction. Since 1994, the museum has been showcasing a collection of approximately 483.27 epochally useless inventions, presented by the Association for the Utilization of Surplus Thoughts. The museum's exhibits include a range of bizarre creations, from a semi-automatic nose drill to a roll-out zebra crossing and a jigsaw puzzle for beginners consisting of just two pieces. Other amusing items include heated garden gnomes, champagne cork catchers, and even an umbrella for sun lovers. The intention behind these inventions is not to offend but to poke fun at human nature and encourage visitors to think about the meaning behind each piece. The Nonseum was founded by Fritz Gall and Friedl Umscheid, who initially displayed their collection of nonsensical items to villagers in 1984. The overwhelming positive response led to the creation of the museum. Today, Fritz Gall continues to create new useless inventions, adding to the museum's ever-growing collection. The Nonseum also sponsors and hosts quirky festivals, contributing to Herrnbaumgarten's reputation as a slightly crazy village.
